Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. The transformation challenges our way of working and collaborating both within Scania as well as with global external partners.
Strategic Cost Engineering is now looking to expand our team with a Senior Cost Engineer that understands and want to challenge our costs on hardware and vehicle-implemented software for our future autonomous and connected systems.
Your duties
• As a Senior Cost Engineer Software / Electronics you have a vital role in supporting the organization with knowhow of complete life cycle cost of Software Development and implementation.
• You support Purchasing with high quality cost calculations to find cost saving potential and negotiation arguments.
• You will be creating bottom up cost calculations for Electronic components with Software from both a greenfield and supplier specific perspective.
• The Senior Cost Engineer has an active role in the negotiations and supplier selection process together with the purchaser.
• In addition to purchasing, you may also cooperate with the relevant design departments and colleagues within Traton and VW Group.
Your profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energized person with solid experience from a similar role in Automotive industry, with a good combination of technical and commercial skills.
Further we wish that you have experience from agile ways of working on software cost calculation and electronic components.
Experience in Siemens TcPCM or similar costing software’s is an additional qualification.
You have a university degree within engineering, software or business.
Your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate and build trust and are clear in your communication with others. You should have high integrity with a good judgment and can adapt to work according to Scania’s company culture.
As the role will involve international contacts and travel, you need to be fluent in spoken and written English. Swedish or German, is an advantage as well as other language skills.
