You will be planning your work with your team and your manager to fit your competences, your interests and the needs of the business.You will be measured on your ability to deliver against the plan as well as your ability to raise the level for yourself and those around you. 

What you’ll do?

You will be embedded into our car and technology programs and will be involved in defining the right suppliers ensuring the lowest cost to market, the right characteristics of new products ensuring the lowest possible duty rate, the most optimal bill of process carried out in the most optimal place to ensure free trade agreements. All with the aim of bringing the most value into the vehicle with the most optimal price and duty costs.

Your work will drive the profitability of Volvo Cars through driving Customs & Trade as the strategic question it deservedly is. You will become part of the team who will own all matters customs in connection with our products, i.e. vehicles, components, spare parts, projects.

The team will be responsible to drive tariff engineering with our Product Creation cluster, origin engineering with Procurement, Industrial Operations and Commercial Operations and drive valuation processes together with Finance, Tax and Commercial operations. The team is tasked with developing our ability to confidently project duty consequences of decisions made and will own this task going forward.

The aim of the team is to achieve our goals of “Zero wasted duties” meaning that any duty paid should be legally owed and all legal avenues of reducing this payment has been explored and “Designed for Customs” meaning that all decisions in the company is adequately explored from a customs perspective before deciding.

Do you fit the profile? 

You have several years of experience in international Trade advisory, either as a consultant or in-house where you have a track record of identifying value propositions and turning them into real value.

You want to work in an environment where decisions are made quickly and implemented over years. You are in a place in your career and development where you are comfortable stepping up and being the expert both by your peers and by other functions in the company.  You deliver with pride and you listen with the humbleness of not knowing everything and are ready to sell our business of customs again and again.
