Senior Data Engineer – Stockholm

A REGULAR DAY AT WORK


As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work with design and development of how telemetry data generated in the appliance data is processed, stored and analysed in our backend system for connected appliances called Electrolux Connectivity Platform (ECP).
Telemetry data is generated in our appliances (washing machines, tumble dryers, ovens, air conditioners, etc.) sent to the ECP where real time processing takes case, and eventually stored in our company-wide data lake for long term storage, historical analysis, etc.
ECP is based on micro services architecture and deployed on Kubernetes in cloud. The micro services are mostly created using Java but also NodeJs.


Your task will be among the following:
• Design, develop and optimize data pipelines (hot, warm and cold data flows)
• Implement real-time streaming data processing
• Support in the implementation of Machine Learning capabilities
• Analyze data quality, propose and implement improvements


The system is continuously being updated with new features and integrations. You will work with different stake holders to identify and plan requirements and be the lead data engineer within the team.
A key task will be to work with the appliance development team, the connectivity module team, the Global Data science team and the business stakeholders
You love working according to agile principles and have some experience in doing so. You are passionate about creating excellent consumer experiences and prefer that this drives the way the product is developed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering, or related.
• Experienced and interested in data, stream data, big data, data governance, data models, data warehouse, data visualization
• At least 7 years of experience in the area of data engineering
• Strong coding skills preferably in Python, Scala, or Java
• Hands on experiences in the majority of the following: MongoDB, Postgres, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, Qlik Sense
• Systematic problem-solving approach with strong sense of ownership.
• Experience in IoT
• A great team player
• Fluency in English
