About us

Data & Analytics at electrification development is a newly established team. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who wants the opportunity to shape and contribute to our mission. As a part of the team, you will be crucial in bringing insights from data to support the development of world-class electric commercial vehicles.

As Senior Data Engineer you will be in the driving seat on how we use DataOps practices to deliver value from data. This is an opportunity to evolve how Scania works with data in the development of battery electric trucks and buses.

 What you’ll do:


• Design, develop and test data-driven solutions that enable our team and stakeholders to analyze data and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
• Be a go-to person for DataOps practices to enable data sharing and usage at scale.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, analysts, product owners, and others across the org. to come up with innovative solutions that enable self-service data processing and access
• Develop and maintain our data platform to give the team and our stakeholders the best foundation to deliver value from data.

Preferably you have some of the skills listed below, but we put a lot of focus on your traits and that you'll be a good fit in our team:


• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or other relevant fields of study.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in an agile work environment.
• Knowledge of current data engineering practices and curiosity about new technologies that help derive value from data.
• Proficiency in tackling loosely defined problems and thriving when working on a team which has autonomy in their day-to-day decisions.
• Understanding of architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scalability) of complex systems.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data access, and data storage techniques.
• Experience in building large-scale batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Experience with AWS and Snowflake.
