In Nordea AI, Machine Learning and Market Automation are all core capabilities. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can take responsibility for evolving our data pipeline architecture, as well as improving the data flows and collection procedures. You will be instrumental in shaping how we work with data in the future. The responsibilities will be wide-ranging and value-adding for Nordea’s AI, Market Automation and BI teams.
You will be part of a high performance tech-team of engineers that solves problems for a variety of applications – bringing your passion for data-driven analytics into the mix. Responsibilities
In the role you will develop Nordea's vast data capabilities to enable better customer engagement, predictive modelling and improved business understanding.
As the Data Engineer, you will play a valuable role in supporting Nordea in transforming big and complex data into a structured and usable commodity for insights analysis, reporting, decisions, machine learning and market automation. We strive for actions and utilise advanced analytics to provide Nordea with insight-driven and value-adding output, for sales, strategic and operational use.
You will work with the end-to-end AI development process:
* Create and maintain data pipelines and tooling
* Design data-intensive applications and participate in machine learning development
* Improve and drive result handling processes together with stakeholders
* Build analytics tools that utilizes the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into user behaviour
You'll join a team dedicated to providing highly qualified analytics capabilities for the whole bank and our customers. We are currently developing some of the leading digital solutions and we need to help the customer find the right solution, and help our business understand how well we are succeeding.
The role is based in Stockholm.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you are:
* An expert SQL developer and scripter with experience working with data in production systems
* Experienced in building data pipelines and data sets, or as a software engineer working on backend systems
* Experience with root cause analysis on data and processes to answer specific business related questions, and to identify areas of improvement
* Experience with cloud based architectures and unstructured datasets
Your experience and background:
* Relevant Master’s degree
* Experience working with data pipelines in Hadoop, SQL and Spark
* Experience working with data models, structure and databases
* Professional understanding of savings and investments business is an advantage
* Experience in object oriented programming, specifically python, is an advantage
* Fluency in written and spoken English
