At Tetra Pak we commit to making food safe and available, everywhere; and we protect what's good – protecting food, protecting people, and protecting the planet. By doing so we touch millions of people's lives every day. And we need people like you to make it happen.
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist within our Decision Science unit who will be the bridge between rigorous scientific methods and strategic product development. Your mission involves steering statistical accuracy and empirical wisdom in Tetra Pak's decision-making, while also taking the helm of product development from conception to realization.
You won't just be working; you'll be conducting experiments in the real-world lab of our business. Partnering with interdisciplinary teams, you'll lead projects from initial hypothesis, through "Proof of Value," to iterative improvements upon deployment. This isn’t just data science; it's decision science with the rigor of academic research.
You will be based in Lund, Sweden.
What you will do
Strategic Synergy: Liaise with both business and technical stakeholders to harmonize and align project objectives for maximum impact.
Data-Driven Leadership: Spearhead data science initiatives from ideation to fruition, championing co-creation with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the process.
Model Excellence: Engineer and validate statistical or machine learning models, upholding rigorous quality standards for sustainable operational use.
Holistic Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate cross-functional coordination with both internal and external entities to enable informed and collective decision-making.
Product Success Enablement: Collaborate closely with business units to drive effective utilization of analytic solutions, amplifying business impact.
Talent Cultivation: Mentor emerging Data Scientists within the team and foster a collaborative, innovation-centric work environment.
Who you are
Analytical Leader: You are driven by an insatiable curiosity and possess both the leadership skills to inspire a team and the analytical mindset to delve deep into complex problems. Statistical rigor isn’t just a tool for you—it’s a philosophy you bring into every business decision.
Natural Leader: You’re a comfortable team leader who loves to coach and guide junior colleagues. Your leadership is human-centric, focusing not just on projects but also on building a fantastic, collaborative team.
Technical Proficiency and Business Acumen: Your coding skills (especially in Python) are top-notch and you have a mastery of machine learning and statistics. But your real strength lies in applying this technical expertise within a complex business landscape, always aligning data-driven insights with strategic objectives.
Product Visionary with Scientific Backbone: Your scientific method-based approach ensures that the decision science products you develop are not only innovative but are grounded in fact and empirical evidence. You have the foresight to see where science can lead business and the practical skills to get it there.
Distinctive Qualities: Your unique background and experiences aren't just a footnote to us; they are invaluable assets that can enrich our team and potentially compensate for any gaps in your work history. We're eager to understand what makes you different and how your individual journey can add a unique perspective to our collective mission.
Bonus Attributes:
You think like an economist: You think like an economist, and this probably affects the way you approach problems.
Statistical and Methodological Prowess: Your toolkit includes statistical tests, machine learning algorithms, and a rigorous approach to probabilistic reasoning.
Broad Expertise: Experience in causal inference, behavioural economics, econometrics, and organizational psychology isn't just welcomed—it's celebrated. These are not mere skills, but ingredients that enrich your scientific approach to decision-making.
We Offer You
A variety of exciting challenges with ample opportunities for development and training in a truly global landscape
A culture that pioneers a spirit of innovation where our industry experts drive visible results
An equal opportunity employment experience that values diversity and inclusion
