Our Agile Release Train for Autonomous Drive develops and integrates the complete vehicle solution for autonomous cars including sensing, system and functions. Our autonomous technology will take safety in driving to a new level. To make this happen, we need talented people like you!
Verification and validation of unsupervised self-driving vehicles is something we at Volvo Cars see as utterly important, but also challenging. Data and analytics play an important role in this regard. We are looking for someone, who have the capacity and knowledge to develop, implement and apply methods and tools for using data and analytics in verification and validation of unsupervised self-driving vehicles.
What will you do?
In this role, you will break down large data science problems into steps we need to take to create intelligence from the vast amount of data. You will develop new techniques to analyse autonomous driving data to extract novel information that describes what has happened during real world drives. You will explore new verification and validation concepts to show that the self-driving vehicle is safe for deployment. As it is a senior role, you are expected to take lead in various technical topics and feel comfortable with breaking down ambiguous objectives to executable steps.

Who you are:
You are a self-driven team player with high ambitions. As a person, you are curious, innovative, and entrepreneurial with an understanding of working in a large global company. You care about the people around you, and get things done.
To be successful you have a proven work experience of conceptualization, development and deployment of data science project(s) on an industrial scale. You can define and implement necessary steps to develop methods for doing automated analysis of large amounts of data, and have skills for presenting the analysis results.
Having strong academic background, in-depth knowledge and skills in both theory and practice is needed in the areas of machine learning, data mining, algorithm design, numerical optimization, statistical modeling, and pattern recognition. Moreover, you demonstrate competence in tackling complex analytical problems, show passion to create prototype systems and transform the proof of concept to production.
Strong programming skills, preferably in Python, is required. Having experience in building CI/CD pipelines is a merit.
We believe that you have a drive to learn continuously and are flexible to broaden your experience to fit the agile way of working. You probably have a M.Sc. degree or higher. Good knowledge in English language both spoken and written, is required for the role. We value experience from driving vehicles and understanding the requirements for driving a vehicle safely.
