Senior Design Engineer - Exterior Front

Exterior Front develops big parts of what you see on the outside of a car. The department is responsible for the whole process when it comes to design of exterior systems. The section Exterior Front consist of two groups, Project Execution and Design Engineers. We are working in flexible cross functional teams that are adapted to the specific project. We are responsible for hood, front fenders, fender carriers and brackets, grille shutters, covers in the front, cross member in the front, hood opening and locking devises, hood hinge, horn and more parts in the front. We also handle some complete car demands as pedestrian and geometry

As a Senior Design Engineer - Exterior Front, you will be working in a creative and passionate environment where the cars of the future are created. You will verify solutions and recommend needed change of the design referring to technique, quality, service, environment, market adaption and cost reduction. You will also put together meetings with suppliers and people from other departments needed in the area to secure a cross functional solution. In this position you will also be responsible to see that the component fits into the complete car and to define the requirements to the surrounding needed to get the design to work.

Main responsibilities

* Responsibility for technical documents (as models and 3DPMI/drawings) are created in time and and that they fulfils all Volvo Car Group-standards
* Responsibility for structure in Team Center (TCe) is correct and aligned with KDP and fulfils requirements for primary and secondary documents
* Contribution in creation of other technical- and requirement documentation
* Make judgement and solutions of risks found
* Recommend new solutions for components needed and deviations
* Contribute to Lessons Learned within your own area

Required qualifications

* University degree in engineering (Bachelor, Master or PhD) or equivalent experience
* At least 8 years of experience from design engineering roles
* Good knowledge in Catia V5 and Team Center
* Good knowledge in PC
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's license B
