ABOUT THE POSITION:

At Marine Jet Power you will get the chance to work in a global and growing company where your design experience and curiosity is leveraged to improve Marine Jet Power's product portfolio. The office in Uppsala has about 70 employees and you will report to Manager Mechanical Engineering. Marine Jet Power designs and builds water jet units and control systems for the global market. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be included in a worldwide network of customers, suppliers and employees. You will work in the Mechanical Engineering team with close collaborations and with short decision paths.


TASK ASSIGNMENT:

As part of the Mechanical Engineering team, you will play an important role in the development of water jet units that are delivered worldwide. The Mechanical Engineering team has an active role in the development process, parallel with the ongoing work to constantly improve existing products and provide customer-specific solutions. The development projects involve the entire process from idea to finished water jet units in production. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will work to improve and solve different types of design-related aspects regarding water jet units, their varying subsystems and different material choices.


YOUR PROFILE:

You have a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture or other equivalent area. Marine Jet Power is looking for a Senior Design Engineer with several years of experience within mechanical design. You have good knowledge in CAD and PDM-systems. Marine Jet Power uses Solidworks, Inventor and EPDM. Furthermore you master the designer tools, have experience of working with tolerance analysis and possesses good knowledge of different characteristics of materials.

We believe that you have experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Worked with welded structures and has experience in design of casted parts in aluminium and steel.
- Experience of working in the marine segment and preferably with product knowledge of water jet units and hydrodynamics.
- Experience of working with hydraulics.
- Experience of FEA and calculations.


The ideal candidate feels confident in the role as a Senior Design Engineer, have the ability to act as a technical lead and is willing to teach and help develop junior colleagues. As a person, you are orderly and structured with the ability to create routines, but are also flexible and adaptable in the event of unexpected changes. Furthermore, you are driven, committed and self-motivated. We are looking for someone who is communicative, curious and solution-oriented and have the ability to make independent decisions. You like to work both independently and in groups to creatively find different design solutions. This is important as you will collaborate internally and also externally with our customers and suppliers around the world. As Marine Jet Power operates in an international market, it is important that you have good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
