We’re looking for two Design Engineers to Power Solutions
Power solutions is a business area within Scania, with responsibility to develop and market Power systems and services for a broad range of industrial, power generation and marine applications. The business is managed as a “Company within the company”, based on synergies from the commercial vehicles. The sales track record shows a significant growth over the past years. At Technical Development, within Power Solutions, we focus on development and adaptation of internal combustion engine systems as well as electrified solutions and their performance throughout complete projects and product lifecycles and for all customer segments: Industrial, Power generation and Marine applications.
The team ‘Mechanical Design’ within Power Solutions is now looking for two new team members within design engineering since two team members will retire in approximately one year. We are primarily looking for senior design engineers, but are also open to you that have less experience. Today the team consists of 12 design engineers, 2 coordinators and a manager. The teamwork both with customer adaptions on today’s series engines as well as development of a new engine platform. As a new member in the team you will be welcomed by a highly committed, skillful and experienced team.
Your role
As a design engineer at Mechanical Design you will be involved in different kind of projects, from small adaptions for a specific customer installation to complete engine platform projects. You'll mainly work in Catia V5 (2D & 3D) and also perform calculations/simulations in Catia GAS to ensure high quality solutions that meets customer demands. Several design assignments include casted parts aimed for different casting method or material.
You'll also be participating at test assemblies at production, hardware testing, technical discussions with suppliers and work cross functional with other departments within the Scania organization.
Your profile
You are an accountable, flexible, structured and experienced design engineer with a problem solving attitude. You have experience of different sorts of designs; casted, sheet metal, pipes, steel, aluminum, plastic, etc. and you have good knowledge of FEM calculations. You are capable of handling several assignments at the same time without risk of low quality and have shown that you can go all the way from a design idea to implementation in production. To be successful as a design engineer at Power Solutions it is essential for you to have basic knowledge of diesel engines. You probably have a university degree in Engineering, but competence acquired through work experience is also valued. We expect you to be fluent in English(C1) and basic professional knowledge in Swedish(B2).
