Job Description

Alfa Laval is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Senior System Development Engineer in the Marine New Product Development department within R&D to have a central role in our strive to optimize the performance of our products.

About the job

The Marine New Product Development department in R&D within Business Unit High Speed Separators is responsible for developing separator and system products for marine applications. The department consists of a project manager team, a separator designer team and a system and automation designer team.

In this position, you will become an important part of the system and automation team.

Alfa Laval is the world leader in marine separation. The separator is used to clean fuel- and lubrication oils among other things on the vessels. This is a focus area within the company and a lot of investments has been done in the last couple of years.

As a Senior Development Engineer, you are part of the whole chain of taking concepts to product. This means analysis of technical data, development of concepts, being involved in both lab-test and field-test, do simulations and finalize all documentation needed to release a product. A vital part of the role is to understand our product and the different applications it is used in and to be able to see the dependencies inside the product.

This position offers many interesting challenges and opportunities to grow and develop as an engineer. The team you will be joining is a well-educated and highly motivated group. It is expected that you are able to work independently.

What you know

We are looking for a driven candidate with a M.Sc. in engineering. It is expected that you have automation experience, high interest in innovations, mechatronics, and data analysis.

To succeed in this role you should be able to combine your theoretical knowledge with a genuine interest in doing hands on work on our machines and have the ability to transfer ideas and concepts into a working solution for our products. We would like you to have a genuine curiosity and the ability to acquire new knowledge.

You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish would be a merit.

Documented skills in control theory, Model Based Design, Matlab, Simulink, programming, CAD and Data analysis are considered to be an advantage.

As a Senior Development Engineer we expect you to be a good communicator and a strong representative in order to push your issues forward in our company.
