Senior Director Material Planning and Logistics
At Material Planning & Logistics, you are part of a global supply and production team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. In close collaboration with people inside and outside the company, we drive and lead the supply chain - from the supplier to the customer - in a lean way. The department Material Planning and Logistics at Volvo Cars Body Components (VCBC) is responsible for long mid, short term production planning, material supply and deliveries. The supply base is in Europe and the customers are in Europe, Asia and North America. The section Material Planning and Logistics is also responsible for the internal material handling and dispatch operations as Logistic engineering, optimisations, inventory and flow efficiency is a part of the job.
As Senior Director you will drive by both strategic and long-term approach but also enjoys and is challenged by daily operation and deliveries. You will be responsible for managing complex international plant relationships and leading the MP&L operation. As Senior Director you are part of the VCBC management team and will be reporting to the Vice President for VCBC.
Main responsibilities
* Ultimately responsible to lead and to follow up the plant logistic operations
* Assure the deliverables for Quality, Delivery, Financial, Improvement, People and Sustainability.
* With Volvo Car Manufacturing System (VCMS) as a platform, develop organisation and performance
* Be an active part of the Management Team of VCC Body Components Plant, ensuring delivery on short and long term basis
* Actively develop employees
* Manage and lead, always with safety and quality in mind
* Represent VCC Body Components Plant when collaborating with internal and external networks
Required qualifications
* University degree or equivalent
* Experience of the Order to Delivery process
* Deep knowledge and experience of lean production
* Former experience from managerial positions including leading other leaders
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Experience from managerial positions within manufacturing is meritorious
Personal qualities
* Ability to motivate and engage people
* Ability and capacity to stimulate and develop employees, teams and organisation
* Goal and result oriented
* Capacity to drive operation and deliveries within own function as well as efficiently collaborate with other functions
* Broad and holistic approach
