Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Director of Procurement R&D to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
Category Strategy & Management: Design and implement global procurement strategies for a cluster of categories or a complex category within R&D Procurement, optimizing business efficiency and value creation.
Supplier Collaboration & Innovation: Lead strategic sourcing, contract management, risk mitigation, and supplier collaboration to drive innovation and ensure alignment with the company’s goals.
Market Insights & Spend Analysis: Develop expert knowledge of global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations. Analyze global spending to identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvement, and enhanced value for money.
Sustainability & Compliance: Lead sustainability initiatives at the category level, ensuring supplier alignment with the company’s sustainability goals. Instill a culture of high ethical standards and compliance across procurement processes.
Business & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Translate business needs into actionable procurement projects that support broader business objectives.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop a team of non-direct report Procurement Associate Directors, acting as a role model for the company’s values and behaviors. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and development.
What you bring:
Educational Background: Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in lab equipment, services, and supplies, or experience in a related field.
Procurement Expertise: Strong expertise in procurement, with a proven track record in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams in a global, matrixed environment.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to design and implement global procurement strategies, while managing risk and navigating ambiguous situations.
Communication & Influence: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive procurement initiatives.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Comfort with complex problem-solving and decision-making in high-risk and ambiguous situations.
