Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What’s in it for you?
With Volvo Cars you will be able to make a difference and you’ll be joining us at a time when you can really have a great impact and help us set the tone for the next chapter in our company's history. You, together with the managers and employees, will set the culture and values to make Volvo a fantastic place for our talents.

The Role
This role entails a global responsibility for Volvo Car’s product development effort for products and services enabling people to have a smooth experience when going somewhere in a Volvo, but also before and after their ride. Making the waiting time for a new car engaging, but also take away all the hassle when something goes wrong. This is a broad role with exciting problems to solve, high impact and varied target groups. You will serve our users, customers, businesses, retailer partners, sales agents, service technicians and customer care agents.
You will create the hassle-free experiences our consumers crave and enable the future revenue streams our company needs.
You’re responsible for leading the product development of around 50 teams, including the app experience, retail experience, customer care, car service, our identity service and fleet management.
You will develop the long-term product strategy and drive execution. You’ll collaborate closely with your UX and Engineering partners, as well as our partners in global and regional teams. A core component of the role is mentoring and developing our Product directors, helping them excel in their craft and develop robust customer-centric strategies, build roadmaps for their products and managing stakeholders in a large organisation.
The role can be located at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg or in our Stockholm tech hub. Alternative locations can be discussed, however a presence at the Headquarters is needed in order to succeed in the role.

Who are you
The ideal candidate will bring experience working in Product leadership at companies with diverse digital product ecosystems. You are used to working in complex, global settings in the interface between business, consumer and technology. You are self-going and thrive on change. You’re a passionate product leader with experience of creating best-in-class user experiences and scaling product teams. You take advantage of the latest technology available to bring ground-breaking digital products to market.

In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:

Drive results: You set ambitious goals and help others get things done even if circumstances are challenging. You make sure we celebrate achievements and learn from failures.
Collaborate: You create and nurture relations with your peers across Volvo Cars, whether they have a stake in what you do or are partners in making it happen.
Build trust: You deliver what you have set out to do and raise the flag when something prevents you from doing it.
Self-develop: You are curious and highly coachable. You are generous with candid feedback and expect others to return the favor. When change is needed, you act quickly.
As owner of a significant part of the product, you are key contributor to the company's strategy and progress towards that strategy. You foster a product culture that prides itself on moving the needle for the company's strategy, and you personally ensure that product development translates into meaningful progress towards strategic goals. You work with the executive team to set strategy, define product's role in that strategy, and achieve the strategy.
You foster a culture that includes stakeholders as critical teammates in product development. You encourage your team to tap into the diverse ideas of people around the company to build better, more effective products. You and your team give and ask for stakeholder feedback, make prioritization decisions when necessary and collaborate around those decisions.
