We are now looking for a Senior ECG Scientific Advisor to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The AZ ECG Centre, in the Cardiovascular Safety Center of Excellence and SKGs (CVS CoE and SKGs) in Global Patient Safety, is AstraZeneca´s ECG Core Laboratory. We deliver scientific/medical advice and ECG services across therapeutic areas. We strive toward scientific, technical and operational excellence in ECG study design, analysis and interpretation using state-of-the-art, in-house developed tools.
What you'll do
As a Senior ECG Scientific Advisor, you will play an important role in evaluation of digital ECGs in clinical studies and provide evaluation of complex CV safety signals. You lead a matrix team at the AZ ECG Centre in CVS CoE and SKGs with the main accountability to deliver high quality and timely end- to- end ECG services to Clinical Study Teams in clinical studies. You will act as Project Manager for complex, multicenter studies, conducted with the support of logistics partners and/or new devices, as well as for standard ECG studies. Being an active partner of the Technical ECG Team by: proposing innovative solutions for the improvement and automatization of the EClysis system, testing new releases, performing measurements on performance. By doing this you sustain an environment where continuous improvement of ECG analytical and technical skills, scientific competence and collaboration are permanently in focus.
Other accountabilities:

Coordinates the ECG Team deliveries in large studies or in Thorough QT studies that necessitate more than one ECG Scientific Advisors
*
Delivers training material and training sessions on digital ECG recording and analysis for AZ study teams, staff at CROs and study sites
*
Elaborates templates and standard text to be used in Study Synopses, Clinical Study Protocols and Clinical Study Reports for studies with digital ECGs, in order to maximize standardization and efficiency
*
Ensures special clinical and operational expertise in developing, maintaining and improving the digital ECG recording, transfer and analysis systems and processes within AstraZeneca.
*
Is updated on new developments in the ECG/Holter field and proactive in the development of" best practices" for ECG capture, transfer and analysis, based on regulatory requirements and technology progress
Essential for the role
*
Registered nurse, Biomedical Analyst (BMA), Bachelor of Science, specialized in Cardiovascular or Intensive Care
*
Minimum 5 years of experience and proven competence in analysis and interpretation of electrocardiograms and Holters, in a healthcare, academic or ECG Core Laboratory setting
*
Proficient in using digital medical devices, cardiac digital systems and tools for ECG data collection and analysis
*
Strong communication skills in English and Swedish
