Responsibilities
- Responsible for electromagnetic design of automotive traction motor. Ensure motor performance meets requirements.
- Analytical and numerical electromagnetic design of components and verification for electrical motor propulsion systems
- Cooperate with mechanical engineering and CFD to complete motor development.
- Verification planning in different design phases: design of experiments, measurement data analysis and results interpretation to verify electromagnetic components
- Method development for the design and the optimization of electrical machine topologies
- Understanding and converting automotive requirements into viable and attractive technical solutions for products
- Interaction with R&D partners and suppliers to find cutting-edge solutions and mature them for product application
- Enrich and refine an interdisciplinary, iterative electrical machine design process and create guideline material
Need to have
- Msc. engineering or physics degree with specialization in electrical machines, drives and control. A doctoral degree in the relevant field may be an asset but is not necessary
- Several years of experience in the design of electrical machines from the first prototype to the product phase and their system interactions
- Profound mathematical and physical knowledge and skills
- Aside from the electromagnetic design experience deep understanding of the thermal and mechanical design of electrical machines
- Knowledge of the interactions with and the control of inverters
- Structured, goal-oriented, resilient work attitude and high motivation to solve challenges in a strong team
- Very good experience in the use of finite element methods and programming knowledge
- Proficient English language skills. Advanced Swedish skills are advantageous but not require
