Senior Embedded Software Engineer

About the role
Based in Malmö, you will be part of the team with main offices in Malmö and Madrid. Your main responsibility will be within the alarm application area, and you will both develop new as well as improve alarm application solutions on past, current, and future gateway hardware.

Your deliverables will be a vital part for the whole Verisure ecosystem in both our European and he LATAM markets.

Our team, the North Alarm & Business Logic Team, is responsible for the Verisure alarm application in the central unit which functions as the brain of our system in constant communication with all the nodes (e.g. smoke detectors, magnet contacts, door locks and cameras). Therefore, connectivity is an essential part of our day-to-day activities working with radio protocols and embedded systems, dealing with radio application for each device, communication and connectivity management of the gateway with the backend, including the security radio protocol, E2PROM data, Mbed TLS and LwIP. 

About the candidate profile
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with emphasis in the embedded application area to join our team. We expect you have worked with connectivity and embedded systems. If you beside this also have experience with security, Mbed TLS and LwIP, even better!

A successful candidate shall be able to articulate and clearly convey the scopes of the problems by identifying key issues and provide input to stakeholders. In addition, your colleagues think you are a good team player that works towards the common goals and you collaborate smoothly with engineers from other teams.

Qualifications
* 7 years or more of experience in software development (coding, designing).
* Several years of experience with C programming language and Linux systems.
* Experience in working with embedded systems and connectivity.
* Experience in working with complex systems requiring legacy management and compatibility challenges.
* Technical communication skills, both written and oral.
* Proficient English skills.
* Experience and interest in software architecture and refactoring is a merit.
* Experience with software configuration management systems like Git, Gerrit, Bitbucket and incident tracking tools like Jira is considered a plus.
