Let’s improve EMC challenges of today & tomorrow! Join us…Build it, measure it, simulate it & learn it …
So who are we?
Electrical and Electronic Architecture is the global technology stream for the new technology development within Volvo Group Truck Technology. We are the group for EMC Technology at EEA in Gothenburg. We provide world class solutions and tests for electromagnetic compatibility. In essence we are a group of highly motivated engineers that love our work and use our creativity and current tools to secure product quality.
What do we do & why do we do that?
We conduct formal test of the electrical system with focus on EMC. Within our scope of responsibility lies the work with development of requirement and new test methods, simulations, reviews of supplier test results and in-house testing.
By 2040 the entire sales of Volvo Group vehicle shall be fossil free and as of the increased complexity of our new products and the electrical architecture, there is an increased need of faster feedback and quality assurance in development. On par with the rest of our activities the electromagnetic test and simulation area will be a key for our future products.
Who are you?
We are looking for a system design engineer with focus on electromagnetic compatibility for components and systems who enjoys finding early design faults so that the EMC issues can be avoided early in our projects. With good knowledge of regulations (UN R10), international standards (CISPR, IEC and ISO) you will develop and maintain Volvo internal standards.
To be successful in this position, we believe you currently work as an EMC engineer within the electrical domain, and you have some years' experience within this area. You are to secure cross-functional and business anchoring as well as support other engineers within the EMC area when needed.
Typical tasks
Develop and maintain Volvo requirements and standards
Review supplier component designs, testing methods and results
Develop and participate in in-house EMC testing
Review and develop system designs by simulation of components and systems
Develop and participate in EMC complete vehicle testing
Cooperate with other experts for alignment and education
Qualifications
MSC in physics, electronics, or recognised equivalent
Skilled in EMC design and testing: conductive and radiated emissions, etc.
Hands-on experience of planning and performing EMC testing
Eexperience of simulation software within the electromagnetic domain (e.g. FEKO)
Experience of electrical system domain (e.g. Matlab/Simulink)
Fluent in written and spoken English
Experience within electrical HW design is a merit
