At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers driven by electric motors with battery derived energy. The ES-30 is expected to enter into service in 2028.

We are now looking for a Senior EMH, HIRF & Qualification Engineer to join our Central Engineering Functions & Integration team in Gothenburg. Do you have experience from aircraft development programs and want to contribute to a more sustainable future?

Your mission

The Senior EMH, HIRF & Qualification Engineer will help design and develop the aircraft and its installed systems. As a hybrid-electric aircraft, this may entail new and novel approaches to meeting the Environmental Qualification requirements, in some cases requiring an innovative approach to the system design. This will be a broad role covering design support, analysis, test and compliance finding. In this role, you will provide specialist support to all other engineering groups including systems and structures.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Develop aircraft level requirements for system & structure design,
- Design guidance/methodology for structure & system designs to use in design analysis and system/equipment qualification tests.
- Develop, plan and execute aircraft level validation & verification activities.

You will report to the Head of Central Engineering Functions & Integration and belong to a growing team currently consisting of 12 people working in different specialist areas. Your place of work will be at our main office located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Education/Experience

- Graduate degree in aerospace, aeronautical similar discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years experience within an aerospace OEM company environment, including the conceptual and preliminary design phase
- Experience with aircraft development programs through the entire design, development & certification lifecycle (EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25)
- Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent
- Direct experience with EMI, HIRF & Lightning (direct & indirect effects) design for certification, including protection methods
- Direct experience with Electromagnetic Simulation tools
- If you have experience of working in a start-up environment it is a merit

Specific Skills/Abilities

- Detailed knowledge of RTCA DO-160 environmental qualification requirements, levels and test methods
- Detailed knowledge for application of SAE ARP5412, 5414, 5415, 5416 and 5583
- Knowledge of systems & safety engineering principles for safety critical systems (SAE ARP 4754/4761)
- Proficiency coordinating activities of engineers internally and in partner supplier companies
- Knowledge of ARP6205
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
- Eagerness to work with others
- Passion for aircraft and to electrify the aviation industry
