Avalanche Studios Group is now looking for a Engine Programmer to join the development team in our Central Technology development group.
The Position
The award-winning Apex engine is a highly advanced and complex set of software upon which we build the world's best open-world games. Your team will be responsible for continuously improve the Apex engine and tools, and ensure that the game projects leverage the full potential of the shared technology. We have a solid reputation for producing fantastic looking open-world games and this is a great opportunity if you want to play an instrumental role on developing our engine. You will be a part of a team responsible for designing, developing and maintaining many aspects of the game or core engine tech such as streaming, threading, memory management and lower level platform specific technology.
As a person you are a team player with a strong desire to gain insight into the realities of the day-to-day work and challenges for the game production teams. You are pragmatic and results-oriented with the ability to quickly absorb new information and transform it into creative solutions. You also have a sense of urgency and ability to cope with short lead-times. In performing this role you will be able to make a great impact on the value realized from the studios shared technology throughout the game productions.

Required qualifications
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills
- At least 5 years of professional AAA game programming experience for PC console
- Excellent programming skills in C/C++
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering/computer science or equivalent experience
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Desired qualifications
- Experience in Python, Lua or similar
- Tool frontend / GUI development
- Automated software testing (e.g. TDD)
- Experience with agile development (e.g. Kanban/Scrum)
