As a Senior Engineer for Brake Mechatronics, you will become a member of Brake and Steering team under the Chassis HW department. The team consists of a great mix of skills and consists mainly of experienced engineers like yourself but also of some more junior engineers. All proud of their professionalism, self-going and creative. In the role as system engineer you will be part of the Brake Mechatronics Agile team working Agile in 2 weeks sprints in an adapted way to suit the business need and the surrounding mainly still non-agile world of CEVT. In your role you will interact both with people in other parts of the organization and external parties like system suppliers.

This role includes a broad scope of work tasks, everything from supplier and project meetings, defining concepts, analyze characteristics of the Brake Mechatronics system and discussion of future solutions. The work process includes the early concept phase to the finished product, and you will be involved in the whole journey! This requires great responsibility, and flexibility is the key to succeeding, as you will work with a lot of varying tasks.

This is what you will do most of the time, depending on project phase:

- Lead the internal assignment and coach the development supplier to meet both Mechanical and Electrical HW requirements in time and with the desired quality to the agreed cost.
- Specify and follows up testing and validation at suppliers and at CEVT
- Analyze test results together with supplier and attribute leaders
- Mechanical and mechatronic development of systems and components
- Breakdown vehicle requirement into system and component requirements
- Support the defined release plans
- Support project builds in the factories used (mostly in China) either remote or on site

We also see that you have a team mindset and an outgoing personality where communication and information sharing play a great part and with which you hopefully can inspire others. You are persistent in pursuing targets and you are able to argue for decisions you think are necessary. To be a part of our team, you need to be flexible and always ask yourself how you can contribute to the team's common goal. Your change management skills are vast and you have the ability to work in cross-functional teams. Cultural sensitivity and curiosity, especially Asian - European culture, are important to us.

You have probably this kind of background and qualifications:

- At least 5 years’ experience of development of Automotive Mechatronic systems preferably within the brake area
- Experience with requirement tools like System weaver and product data management tools like Teamcenter
- Experience in working with PLM systems
- Experience from pure electrical and electronical development is seen as a merit
- Experience in project management is seen as a merit
- Fluent English in speech and writing
- Chinese language is a merit
