My team, Oil and CCV systems are looking for a new colleague! We are mainly working with embedded engine functions and related components, and now there is a need to strengthen our group with a new Global Component Responsible engineer that will primarily work with electrical components, such as actuators, valves, heating devices and separation components.
As a component responsible you will work in close cooperation with several suppliers and the Volvo design department as well as other stakeholders such as production, material technology, purchasing, testing and virtual verification. Some important personal characteristics is teamwork, communication, ability to challenge status quo and willingness to drive our development towards a sustainable future. We also support other functions and all brands within Volvo with our generic design, such as battery electric vehices and future technologies like hydrogen and fuel cell.
General work description
As a component owner you will be responsible for a defined area of technical expertise, with high technical complexity. You will provide input in product and system roadmaps, create technical specifications, drive the development from research/early phases of development to product maintenance, ensure the design fulfills the business targets/ requirements. You will also develop and share acquired know-how (e.g. training) and provide technical advice and you will create and manage networking across the organization, as well as influencing the work in other sites.

Mandatory requirements
You have 5+ years of experience of product development in the automotive industry
Knowledge about automotive electrical and electronic components development process, communication protocols are a merit
Great team-player and agile mindset
You know how to provide component requirement and the way to validate them
You have at least a bachelor’s degree within mechanical and/or electrical engineering
You are fluent in spoken and written English
Good to have
You know Volvo GTT systems, processes and tools.
It's a great advantage if you have used to work in Creo and used Volvo system such as KOLA.
You have experience in development and testing of electronic parts.
You are result-oriented, with a high level of engagement and a strong enthusiasm
You have been working successfully in an agile or lean environment
You are an excellent networker and surely cross-functional with great communication skills
“Think-outside-of-the-box-attitude” is highly valued
You have fun teaching and explaining complex correlations
Good automotive knowledge, truck knowledge is a merit
