About us
At Volvo Product Creation & Quality (P&Q) you will be a key contributor to the next generation of outstanding luxury BEV vehicles from Volvo Cars. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people.
Our group 97740, Electric Drive HW System, consists of 2 teams and about 18 engineers, and we are still growing. We are responsible for the electromagnetic design into PMSM, ASM concepts and others, as well as testing and validating the attribute fulfilment in EM test rigs and vehicles.

What you will do
As a Senior engineer in the EMD team, you will be responsible to perform advanced electromagnetic simulations in Motor-CAD, ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG
or similar CAE tools, for development and optimization of different concepts. Also, an ability to initiate new tool development as well as model verifications of current models in e.g. Matlab and Python environment.
A close co-operation within the team and across Vehicle Propulsion is crucial, to enable the future implementation of the most desirable Electric Axle Drives.
This role also includes agile way of working co-operation, within team and with backlog deliverables, related to each program increment (PI), to reach established and agreed team targets and solutions.
Clear and regular documentation of CAE results and analyses with recommendations is key for success.

You are a team player with strong communications skills and a genuine interest in technology. You keep a holistic view and conceptual thinking and take vital actions when required. You are a fast learner with an analytical and solution-based mindset.
Your technical competence and your interaction with different teams created a great atmosphere for innovative solutions.
* Previous experience in MotorCAD, ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, Matlab, Python
* University degree Ph. D/M.Sc. within Electric Engineering or similar.
* System knowledge within Electric Driveline
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driving license B
Meritorious
Experience from Automotive industry, Power electronics or ICE/HEV propulsion attribute development phases, as comparison.
