About us:
In the Inbound Logistics Engineering EMEA team within supply chain logistics, we work together with internal and external stakeholders to find the best logistical solutions for our global inbound supply chain towards our production plants in Europe. This is done by implementing our current standards and systems, but also data analysis and benchmarking to understand the full supply chain with potential cost savings and environmental impact as drivers. The current electrification journey Volvo Cars started, has a big impact on our network and it is crucial that we develop a transportation network that fits these future needs. We are a diverse team with international experience that is looking for an extra person to continue our journey.
What you will do:
You should have a deep understanding of a complex global inbound logistical network towards EMEA. You will work with the logistical inbound processes and (digital) tools and with further developing and improving these processes and tools. You will set-up and design our network end to end either by using current standards, or by using new business models, partners and strategies based on your own and the team’s expertise. Cross functional work with other teams, benchmarking and network analysis will support you to make the best commercial and sustainable solution for Volvo Cars and our environment. Your employment location will be Gothenburg.
Your skills:
You have at least 5 years recent experience in a logistical function. An M.Sc. in Engineering or similar university degree in Supply Chain Management is a requirement. You have a good general understanding of the end-to-end supply chain with a focus on the inbound area. You are experienced in project management and understand commercial processes. Previous experience in transportation and supply chain management is required, a background in logistics or supply chain consultancy is considered an extra merit. Experience in intermodal transportationg and sustainable solutions is an asset. You need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
