In this role, you will participate in a relatively small organization that develops, adapts designers according to customer specifications (ETO process), manufactures and delivers traction motors for on rail and off-road vehicles.
Your role, as a senior engineer, will primarily be to ensure the mechanical integrity for customer adaptation within the ETO process, but also includes parts in new development and after sales cases. Challenges are to optimize our designs to be competitive in the market, ensure quality and when possible use existing modules with as few adaptation changes as possible. The area of responsibility is primarily mechanical strength but also contains vibration problems. In addition, we see a need in acoustics, which is also a growing demand from the market.
You will report to the Engineering Manager.


Your responsibilities
Be the leading person in the function for mechanical strength, vibrations, and also acoustics as a possible additional area of responsibility.
Understand design requirements from both standards and customers.
Assess which parts of a design are critical from a strength point of view and which should be analyzed in detail.
Propose and recommend improvements in designs.
Assess method to ensure mechanical integrity (analytical, FEM, tests, etc).
Lead and perform strength, vibration and acoustic analyzes.
Summarize and issue both part and final reports and present them internally and externally.
Educate others within the organization, for example by creating design guidelines stored in a handbook.
Keep up to date with technologies, tools, methods, standards, and implement initiatives to improve the work process and customer satisfaction.



Your background
Minimum 5 years´ experience in FEA analysis, mechanical integrity (static, dynamic), vibration, castings, rotors, welded structures (EN15085), bolt joints etc.
Method and tools knowledge, as example Ansys
Experience from analyzes of rotating machines
Knowledge and experience of acoustic analyses
Fluent in technical English in both writing and speaking
Experience mechanical testing’s is good to have
Airflow/fluid analysis is good to have (E.g. pressure drop calc. fan dimensioning)
Experience in evaluating welded designs, including knowledge of EN 15085, is good to have
Experience from rail business is good to have.
