Senior Engineer Modelling

We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer Modelling to HYBRIT Development.

In 2016, SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall joined forces to create HYBRIT – an initiative that endeavours to revolutionize steelmaking. HYBRIT aims to replace coking coal, traditionally needed for ore-based steelmaking, with hydrogen. Position

As Senior Engineer Modelling you will conduct computational modelling activities to simulate chemical reactions, transport and energy processes for the development of a hydrogen-based iron and steel production process.

Your responsibilities will include:


• Conduct modelling activities focused on direct reduction of iron in laboratory, pilot and full industrial scale.
• Actively participate in the industrial process development process by combining experimental and simulation results.
• Contribute in HYBRIT development projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines and partners
• Share and document results

 

Qualifications


• 3-5 years of experience as a modelling engineer within computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transport processes and reaction technology
• Experience of industrial development work or technical consultancy
• Excellent skills in Comsol, Fluent or similar
• MSc in Chemical or mechanical engineering, Fluid technology or physics
• Excellent writing and communication skills in English

 

Location

The position will be based in either Luleå or Stockholm, Sweden.
