ED Components, within Power conversion – Electrical distribution & charging are responsible for providing electrical distribution components to the full Volvo Group platform of battery electric vehicles. We’re now looking for an experienced engineer to strengthening our team for taking on ongoing and future deliveries of our components to the various projects and applications ongoing and coming. The team runs an agile setup where we build on team member’s strengths and complement each other to become a successful team while having fun at work.
What will you do?
In this position, you will contribute to the product development of high voltage cables and connectors by supporting and driving the tasks needed to make sure we deliver according to project time plans and expectations. A part of your tasks will also be to focus on the future concepts where you will have the opportunity for deep-diving into technologies and market trends within our area to ensure best possible future design and concepts.
You will, together with designers in other teams and with System engineering, support requirement brake down, design, sourcing and validation for our components that will be used. Since we do development in a collaborative way you will not only work together with internal stakeholders, but also manage cooperation with and follow-up deliveries from suppliers to ensure we get the quality products that our customers deserve and expect.

You also tend to enjoy the challenge with identifying and make sure things get solved that is not always obvious and now and then take on a project leading attitude.
Requirements
University degree in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics, Mechanics or similar
Several years of experience in product development in high voltage complete harness or similar positions
Good understanding for hardware selection, product development and its requirements.
A good understanding and experience of high voltage electrical distribution systems
Extensive experience in automotive product development collaboration with Automotive suppliers including handling sourcing scenarios
Documented experience in product development practices for Automotive, preferably within high voltage systems
Project leading experiences
Fluent in both written and verbal English
Meritorious
Experience in the Electromobility area at other manufacturers
Knowledge of Volvo GTT related tools, e.g., KOLA and processes
An already established network for electrical and electronics within Volvo AB
Knowledge and interest in other electrical distribution components such as sensors, fuses, resistors etc.
