The Corporate Cybersecurity team’s responsibility is to guide, advise and protect Volvo Cars' and its customers by designing and embedding security in everything we do using future proof, automated and data driven solutions. Furthermore, advanced analytics will facilitate and guide business functions e.g. by enabling self service capabilities and provide personalized real-time data insights. This will ensure a more proactive approach to detecting and responding to cyber security threats and incidents. Our security teams consist of experts in all areas of cyber security – cyber security defense center 24/7 operation and cyber security enablement including an academy, advisory and data management. 

This is a leadership position managing people and technology. Together with a team of Security and Data Engineers reporting to you, you will ensure that the security teams are set up for success. This includes prioritizing overall team health, tech health and delivery. 

What you’ll do  

You will lead and grow a team of talented engineers through hiring, mentoring, inspiring, and feedback within the Cyber Defence Centre organization. You will ensure, through streamlined execution and experimentation, that our solutions meet our company’s needs. 

Moreover, you will advocate and strengthen a modern, agile, cyber security delivery by using modern technology and innovation in close collaboration with our business to protect our cars and customers from cyber threats. You will ensure that solutions are scalable, sustainable, and architecturally sound and that technical debt is incurred consciously and repaid reasonably. 

Who you are

We are looking for someone who enjoys guiding, developing, inspiring, and growing an engineering team and has similar previous experience such as; 

•    An experienced Engineering manager or similar role within a secure data operations environment, who knows what it takes to build a phenomenal team.
•    A great leader who possesses compassion and can adapt and understand that every individual and situation have specific needs.
•    A leader who takes care of its people and understands the importance of inclusion and making sure that everyone can be themselves and have fun at work. 
•    Strong technical background in data and software engineering, capable of identifying and addressing complex technical challenges effectively.
•    Demonstrated success in driving organizational changes and process improvements.
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders at different levels
