Welcome to the Art Team
Your impact
Our Art Team has a huge impact in building the GOALS universe. As our first senior environment artist, you will have a core function in the team where your previous experience and knowledge, together with your ambition will be much appreciated and just what we are looking for.
You will play a key role in our journey, where you will be the one pushing visuals and technical quality of the whole game to the next level - visualizing the world of GOALS. You will be fully responsible for leading and crafting our environment art and be in charge of the pipeline and implementation for the art into our game/ engine.
But you will not be left alone. You will be working closely with Art Direction, concept artists, technical artists as well as with other disciplines across the organization.
With your strong understanding of environment creation with modular and procedural methodologies and your interest for shape, form, colour, materials and composition, you will take our environment development to the next level.
You will be responsible for handling questions like:
- How do we create environments that visualize the world of GOALS in an efficient way without losing our vision?
- How do we bring ideas to life in our engine?
- How can we improve and make even better production pipelines
Focus areas:
In this role you will be focusing on areas such as:
- Crafting environments art for our game
- Modeling, texturing, assembling of environments
- Optimizing topology and UVs for optimizing frame - rate
- Creating of Modular Environments
- Refining methods regarding workflows and techniques used in the studio
Who you are
We’re creating a game for everyone, and our studio should always represent that with a diverse team.
You will have a significant impact on how we go from here, building our environments. To thrive in this position you have experience as an environment artist on a senior level, combined with a problem solving mindset where you can easily convert requirements to concepts.
You feel comfortable working independently, being responsible for your deliverables and you can plan your time and workflow, understanding how it impacts on others.
You take initiative to achieve results and are seen as a trustable colleague who delivers on time.
You are used to working together with others, both people within your own discipline and cross-functional. You have no problem taking input from others or sharing your knowledge with the team.
Let’s narrow it done to a short list
On paper we believe that you have:
- +5 years of experience as an environment artist in the games industry
- Experience working with Trimsheets Modeling
- Experience on a senior level on visual and technical understanding of 3D modeling, UVs, LODs, collision, texturing, assembling creative environments in games
- Ability to work Modular and Procedural
If you have experience of modular environments, building, using Unreal Engine and Blender, that will be consider as a big bonus!

About the Employment
The position is permanent, starting with 6 months of probationary employment. You can work from our Stockholm office, fully remote or hybrid. It is important that you are able to communicate unhindered in verbal/written English and that you can work in a timezone close to Stockholm (CET 0-3 hours).
For this position we do not offer relocation assistance.

GOALS is a Stockholm-based AAA game studio founded in 2021.
Recognizing there wasn’t a fast-paced, competitive, multiplayer-focused football game on the market we decided to change that. Let’s bring football into esports for real! Bridging the gap between the real world and the digital, we’re building something more that is more than a game.
