The Stamping Strategy and Concept group is a part of the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organization.
Our mission is to secure that we create the best possible prerequisites for the development and manufacturing of stamping processes globally.
Stamping Strategy and Concept consist of a variety of competences Advanced Engineering, Operational development, Die standard, Strategic work and Global Equipment Engineering.
We are looking for a member that will work in our global stamping equipment team. The team is located both in EU and APAC with different stakeholders within Volvo Cars.

What you’ll do
As Senior Equipment Engineer have the overall responsibility regarding technical sections in the procurement process. You will develop processes to; specify, cost calculate, plan, install and verify equipment’s within Volvo Cars as well as lead and coordinate engineers from different areas of responsibility in an equipment task, ensuring that deliveries are according to the task description.
You will also:
* act as main contact person towards suppliers regarding technical issues from RFQ.
* review and approve process and equipment design.
* follow up manufacturing of the equipment at the supplier facility.
* support the or stamping shops with equipment studies to develop each stamping shop towards the vision.
As Equipment engineer you will be involved in the development of the future stamping shop. The work is conducted in cross functional teams consisting of representatives from manufacturing engineering, maintenance, production, facility and external suppliers.
Do you fit the profile?
To be a fit for this position, you should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar area, or corresponding experience from working with stamping presses and related production equipment. You have 5-10 years’ experience in equipment engineering regarding stamping presses and automation equipment for stamping.
You are experienced in Automation equipment such as Robots, Overhead cranes, AGV systems as well as press knowledge (mechanical and electrical) and Process Simulate (Siemens). Experience from maintenance is meritorious. Furthermore, you possess kknowledge from similar engineering processes and project management. You are fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
The operative location for this role will be in Olofström, but traveling to Gothenburg, China, and suppliers around the world will be required.
