Our team currently consists of 20 engineers with different professional backgrounds, interests and history but with one common mindset: To develop our products and ourselves! With the sea as our closest neighbor, where a lunch walk along the seaside in Arendal is an energy boosting and relaxing activity, we gather every day to secure the quality and competitiveness of our products in a fast-evolving business.
In our group, we focus on the development of Vehicle Connectivity and Driver Environment. Having a global responsibility, the solutions developed within the team can be found in Volvo buses all over the world helping millions of people every day to reach their destination. Imagine that as a legacy!
In our global responsibility, we cooperate with our sites in Poland, Mexico and Brazil, as well as with our Volvo-owned brands Prevost and Nova in North America. Together, we secure knowledge transfer and competence development in an effort to become an even higher performing team consisting of highly passionate people.
What can we provide?
You will be a part of the Vehicle Connectivity & Driver Environment group within the Electrical & Software Architecture Department. You will play an important role in a competence area that is providing ergonomics, UX and HMI expertise into the product development. Together you are responsible for the complete driver environment when it comes to the three features Visibility, Ergonomics and User Interface.
You will define and validate feature requirement, perform virtual ergonomic and visibility analyses, perform driver clinics and provide feedback to the Product Development department. Be part of developing the roadmap and setting the strategy for the competence area.
You will work in an agile way, where you will be a member of a high performing cross functional team with colleagues both in Gothenburg and around the world.
And this is you
You are a skilled team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills and genuinely interested in providing a safe and comfortable driving experience for our bus drivers.
BSc or MSc degree in Industrial Design Engineering, Product Development, Interaction Design or equivalent is highly valuable as well as previous experience from working with features ergonomics, visibility, User Interface. A solid network within Volvo Group and knowledge of our system and processes is meritorious.
Experience in ergonomic simulation and VR tools is a merit along with experience within user studies.
Since you have good engineering judgment and priorities, you have the ability and interest to technically support and challenge colleagues in their work and their mindset. You like to share your passion for technical solutions, and you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a person you are positive, you display driving force, have a structured way of working and are eager to learn new skills and driven by self-development.
