At Volvo Cars global finance organisation, you are part of a global team that drives business performance in order to fulfill the objectives set out in Volvo Car Group's Corporate Strategy. We are looking for a Senior Expert, Accounting Governance, within the Accounting and Group Reporting function.
Who we are
Accounting and Group Reporting consist of Group Accounting and Accounting Governance and is responsible for the accounting within Volvo Cars on Group level, including accounting standards, group consolidation and internal and external financial reporting.
Being a Senior Expert within the Accounting Governance team means that you will have to think and act globally and be involved in our global financial processes. In this role, you will be part of a team of 3 dedicated employees based in Gothenburg, all keen on ensuring high quality financial external reporting and provision of IFRS technical guidance to other parts of the organization.
What you´ll do
Accounting Governance is working closely with Volvo Car Group subsidiaries all over the world giving guidance, ensuring adherence to the Volvo Car Group’s Accounting and Reporting Directives and participating in different projects and accounting topics. Working in the Accounting Governance department gives a big opportunity to a wide circle of contacts within Volvo Car Group as well as getting a comprehensive view of the financial activities within the Group.
One of Accounting Governance major responsibility is to hold ownership of Volvo Car Group Finance manual. We act on new accounting principles in a timely manner as well as provide correct and timely accounting advices to the organization regarding accounting effects of business transactions and accounting treatment of complex contracts. We also educate the organization to comply with Volvo Car Groups Finance Manual and in accounting related topics. Accounting Governance participate in networks and representing Volvo Car Group in different internal and external foras along with being a part of the preparation of financial reports together with Group Accounting.
Who you are
We are looking for you who:
• Have extensive knowledge within IFRS accounting principles.
• Carry on an University degree in Business Administration (major in finance or accounting) or equivalent.
• Has experience (7-10 years) working as accounting specialist and/or from an accounting firm.
• Has experience from working within an international organization and from working with or in listed companies.
• Have extensive knowledge of GAAP differences between Swedish GAAP and IFRS.
• Is fluent in English, verbally and writing.
• Extensive Excel skills.
As a person you are a positive, open-minded and driven team player who has refined communications skills and high level of business acumen. Having a holistic mindset and good analytical skills are also key factors in this role. Further, you are motivated by working independently, take initiatives for change and further development and being able to contribute on our exciting journey ahead.
Personal qualities as high integrity and ability to uphold standards of professionalism and confidentiality are valued. It is also of importance to be flexible to handle short notice situations and able to embrace changes and work proactively in a changing environment, but also to be process oriented, structured and logical in approach. Since you will be a member of a team, work well with others will be a key factor such as also ability to engage people.
