The Global Customs Department is responsible for Global Governance and process development for all of Volvo Car Group globally in the field of Customs. The department is relatively new (established in 2014) and many things are therefore still in defining and designing stage. The team consists of 5 people; 4 in Sweden and 1 in Belgium. Everyone are highly specialised customs experts with various degrees of expertise, nationalities and backgrounds.

As Senior Expert Customs Compliance you will have the unique opportunity to be part of, and actively contribute to, the development of Global Customs and to define the future Customs governance from inception to implementation and further to maintenance and improvements. In your role you will be a dedicated as a specialist, based in Gothenburg, and you will report directly to the Head of Global Customs.

Main responsibilities

* Refine and relate the Volvo Car Group Global Customs Policy to business transactions, in relation to the inbound flow of materials for production as well as indirect material flow
* Create and maintain internal instructions to establish the level and method of governance based on the global Customs policy
* Train and guide Volvo Car employees, business stakeholders, purchasers and Logistics department in needs and requirements for Customs governance
* Develop Customs in Volvo Car Corporation
* Identify needed changes to logistics processes

Required qualifications

* A degree in Law, Business, Supply Chain Management or similar
* Training from national Customs authorities etc. will be considered
* Experience of in-house customs governance functions, in customs and trade departments or with a consulting firm
* Experience of working on international customs assignments or projects
* Broad range of computer skills for example database, spreadsheet, statistics applications
* Comfortable working with individuals at all organisational levels
* Project management skills
