Who we are

Group Treasury is Volvo Car Group's internal bank and responsible for the financial risk management and cash management infrastructure. Group Treasury is also responsible for all trade finance and working capital financing solutions. Treasury Risk Management is a small team within Group Treasury managing the financial risks of the Group. This includes all activities and risk management for funding, currencies and interest rates. We are now looking for a candidate to our position as Senior Funding Manager within Treasury Risk Management at Volvo Cars HQ in Gothenburg.

Let us describe the challenge we offer

As Senior Funding Manager you will be joining a dynamic and ambitious treasury team, be involved in determining the funding strategy for the Group, evaluating funding instruments and markets and be responsible for execution of bonds, loans, and other market operations. The job includes everything from identifying loan requirements and exploring possible solutions to negotiating terms and documentation with financial institutions. Relations with banks and financial institutions is also a vital part of this position. You will report to the Head of Treasury Risk Management.

What you will do

We are looking for a new colleague who will lead the Volvo Car Group´s global funding activities. Some of your responsibilities will be to manage bank relationships related to the groups external funding as well as develop policies, processes and procedures in financing risk management and ensure implementation to the operations. Part of the scope is to manage, plan, and follow up the overall debt and funding strategy of the Group. You will be responsible for identifying the funding tools and instruments available and the execution of any debt funding in the Group, while ensuring optimal risk management to mitigate the financial risks, interest rate and foreign exchange, related to the funding portfolio.

Further, you will manage and negotiate loan documentations with financial counterparts together with corporate legal counsel. You will represent Group Treasury, and its interests, in different Strategic Initiatives. 

Competence and experience are important, but personality and potential are key

We believe that you have experience from a banking or treasury role. You have well documented knowledge and experience in corporate financial management as well as understanding of legal financial documentation. To prosper in this position, you have experience of the capital markets and the products available. Experience from fixed income and foreign exchange is an advantage in order to support and back up in other treasury related activities. Moreover, we see that you have strong analytical skills and a proactive approach. You also have a strong personal drive and a passion for financial markets. A wide range of internal and external contacts will require a high integrity and good communication and collaboration skills. In the role you will be leading projects and initiatives therefore it is important that you are very self-motivated with a result orientated drive. 

Qualifications

•    Relevant work experience from Corporate Treasury and/or Bank
•    Most likely you have a degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Economics
•    You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
•    Experience from working in a cross-functional environment with many internal and external stakeholders
