Senior Game Designer

We are in search of a talented Game Designer with a knack for MMOs to strengthen our Design team here at Star Stable!

Star Stable Entertainment AB offers an international and fun workplace driven by passion and innovation. Our game Star Stable Online (SSO) is a vast online multi-player adventure game designed to encourage girls to work together to solve problems and complete challenges as well as explore a large-scale, complex magical world from horseback. With over 10 million registered users, Star Stable Online is one of the most popular MMO’s in the world, and one of the few online games targeted specifically towards girls.

What you will be doing:

- Designing features and solutions to address specific focus areas of the game like retention, providing means of engagement for players at end of content, etc
- Designing and implementing limited time events, and owning the associated writing, scripting and balancing
- Prototyping mechanics and gameplay systems to improve the quality and variety of activities available for players
- Collaborating on level and environmental design
- Mentoring others in the team on how to create engaging content efficiently and under tight time constraints

We’re looking for a game designer who:

- Is passionate about our company mission
- Has 3 or more years of experience as a game designer
- Feels comfortable working with scripting languages
- Has familiarity with a variety of tools
- Has empathy for our target audience
- Is adept at data driven design
- Is inquisitive and possesses a proactive attitude
- Is an excellent communicator and can work well in cross-functional teams
- Has playable demos or a portfolio available
- Loves mentoring others and sharing knowledge
- Is analytical- understands the value that their work provides and the repercussions
- Can self-check their ‘passion creep’

Advantages:

- Experience on MMOs or other live service based games
- Horse knowledge
