Senior Geotechnical Engineer to Vattenfall

Vattenfall is now recruiting a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. This is a permanent position at Vattenfall based in Älvkarleby, Sweden.

You are hired to strenghten a dynamic team with close collaborations and with short decision paths. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you may build a worldwide network of stakeholders.


TASK ASSIGNMENT:

• Represent R&D as an expert on geotechnical matters.
• Advise, train and inform others within and outside the organization on geotechnical matters.
• Provide geotechnical support in particular to Business Unit Offshore Wind and Business Unit Hydro.
• Support the creation of a new R&D Geotechnical Laboratory, e.g. with expertise, quality assurance and in the development of methods.
• Initiate and manage research within the geotechnical field aligned with the needs of our Business Units.
• Proactively monitor and contribute to external geotechnical research in areas of interest for Vattenfall Business Units.
• Contribute to geotechnical design tasks.


YOUR PROFILE:

You have at least a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with specialization in geotechnics or equivalent. Your expertise comprises experimental procedures, routine testing as well as computerized evaluation and verification within geotechnics.

The ideal candidate feels confident in the role as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, has the ability to act as a technical expert and is willing to train and supervise junior colleagues. As a person, you are service-oriented, structured with an innovative mindset. You are flexible and adaptable in the event of unexpected changes. Furthermore, you are driven and strives to deliver solutions, committed and self-motivated. We are looking for someone who is communicative, curious and solution-oriented with project delivery experiences. You like to work both independently and in teams to co-creatively develop solutions to challenges. As Vattenfall operates in an international market, the position requires fluency in spoken as well as written English. If you know Swedish, it is considered a merit.
