Cepheid is a leading molecular diagnostics company that is dedicated to improving healthcare by developing, manufacturing, and marketing accurate yet easy-to-use molecular systems and tests. We develop and manufacture diagnostics tests that improve patient outcome all over the world.
We are currently seeking our next star to join us in the role as senior GL accountant in supporting the Accounting Manager activities, including Month End, Quarter End and Year End tasks for one or more specific entities. Project Management with a focus on the set-up of accounting processes for new entities.
Position Summary:
Establishes and maintains the general accounting reporting and practices for the organization.
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and/or review necessary journal entries for properly stated ledgers and financial statements in accordance with regulations (e.g., GAAP) and company policy.
May perform bookkeeping or account management duties. Includes accounts payable, cost accounting, cash management and Controllers responsible for only accounting.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Journal Entries preparation Reconciliations of accounts
Prepare flux analysis and comment on variances
Support the external provider with the preparation of Statutory Accounts
Dealing with the Internal (SOX) and External Audits Responsible for equity grant accounting, payroll booking & related activities
Support global projects VAT and Tax preparation Fixed Assets accounting
Support US GAAP reporting and SOX compliance
Support the monthly close in accordance with US GAAP while ensuring proper maintenance of statutory financials. This includes interfacing with Corporate Accounting, with external accounting firms and the external auditors.
Support the EMEA Finance strategy of Operational Excellence and Continuous process Improvement
All tasks must be strictly performed within the International, Corporate and legal deadlines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience (in years):
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience OR
Master’s degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.
Audit firm experience a plus
Knowledge and skills:
Fluent in English
SAP experience a plus
Microsoft Excel advanced user a plus
Knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
Accuracy - Attention to Detail
Teamwork – Good communication skills
Ability to work in an International environment
