Accounting, Group Reporting and Internal Control department within Group Finance is responsible to provide timely, accurate and uniform data on consolidated level to internal and external parties. The department is responsible for issuing accounting policies, guidelines and accounting instructions to assist the organization to apply correct accounting treatment for all kind of transactions and to ensure effective conditions for control activities in the key processes. Accounting, Group Reporting and Internal Control are about 26 employees, organized in three groups. Group Accounting consists of 12 employees who are responsible for the Volvo Cars Actuals consolidation and to provide timely, accurate and uniform financial data on consolidated level for Volvo Car Group to internal and external parties.

As a Senior Group Accountant you will work with consolidation activities. You will work globally with a holistic view and collaborate with entities, accounting centers, project organizations, etc to be able to be on top of the accounting and your responsibility. You will also need combine the accounting with the operational view of the business. Your responsibility includes ensuring adherence of the Volvo Cars Finance Manual, preparing monthly and quarterly financial calculations, analysis and reporting in line with IFRS requirements as well as in line with requirements from our Chinese owners. A position within Group Accounting will give you an opportunity to a wide circle of contacts within Volvo Cars, working globally and cross-functional, as well as getting a holistic and comprehensive view of activities within the Group.

Main responsibilities

* You will be responsible for the accounting accuracy within your area of responsibility
* Monitor and participate in projects and initiatives within your area
* Co-ordinate and highlight questions relating to your area of responsibility
* As part of the team you are responsible to communicate and collaborate within the Group Accounting team to fulfil the team objectives

Required qualifications

* University degree in Business Administration with a major in finance and accounting or equivalent
* Minimum of 5 years in Finance, primarily accounting, or related business
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written
* Experience from positions in Group Accounting is preferred
* Experience from auditing is preferred
* System experience - Hyperion FM is meritorious
* Skilled in excel is meritorious

* Good communication and co-operation skills
* Active and performance driven
* Being curious and enjoy challenges and complexity in both accounting but also in structures and information streams
* Drive your own initiatives to ensure an effective process with qualitative accounting
