Be a part of our offshore installation team

NKT is currently expanding our offshore engineering team and are offering a unique opportunity to join one of the leading suppliers of the largest and most complex submarine cable projects.
Take responsibility for installation equipment
As an Installation Engineer you will be responsible for equipment that is primarily intended for use on site, such as cable protection system, arrangement on platforms, termination support, winding machines etc.
You will also support other departments within Service & Installation with equipment and rigging for cable vessels. The responsibility for equipment, tools and machines also includes calibration, maintenance and ensuring that the object is safe to use and in working order. To ensure a link between Installation Engineering, Project Engineering and the Field Technicians, taking control over all future fiber optic installation and measurements in all projects and on all sites where NKT Karlskrona is another key part of this role.
You will be a part of the highly skilled Offshore Installation team, with placement in Karlskrona. Regular travel to project sites are included.
Besides the above your primary tasks will be:
Execute installation engineering deliverables
Ensure that correct test and installation equipment is available
Develop procedures, processes and methods connected to the technical installation scope
Determine most suitable technically solutions and methods in the tender and project phases, both from a technical, commercial and QHSE perspective
CE-marking and Hazid identification if necessary
Communicative, driven and self-going engineer
To succeed in this role you have a high technical interest and competence. Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders as well as building and maintaining strong relationships. In order to thrive and succeed you are a collaborative team player who is driven, self-going and service minded with a high sense of responsibility.
In addition to that you have a strong understanding of the challenges and associated risks involved when working with offshore installation projects.
Additionally, your CV includes:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering
Some years of experience in installation and operations onshore/offshore in an international context
Experience of fibre cable system installation and testing
Design and drafting skills and experience from e.g. CAD or SOLIDWORKS
Fluency in spoken and written English, Swedish is beneficial
