As the Senior IT Controller at SSAB, we offer you a development-oriented position in our transforming and growing business with real opportunities to influence in the success of the Group IT team.  

In the position as Senior IT Controller you are based in Stockholm, report to the Head of Group Business Control and be a part of the Group Business Control team. You will work closely with the Head of Group IT and the rest of the IT Management team in pursuit of a cost-effective, productive and efficient IT function within SSAB.

Main responsibilities
As the Senior IT Controller you will play a key role in shaping the direction of the IT function under transformation and assist in supporting and developing our strategic Group IT road maps, thereby adding value to the transformation journey from a Group IT perspective. You will also support in defining the long-term IT strategy and translating this into a long-term financial plan. This includes preparing finance related material for the Group IT meetings and participating in the Group IT Management meetings.

You will analyze operational performance, such as analysis of projects, allocation of models and day to day activities making transparent what drives current financial performance of the Group IT organization and verify/validate (financial) information retrieved from reporting systems.

The position also includes:

Controlling of IT costs in SSAB Group as a whole.
Participating in reporting and forecasting processes as well as ensuring appropriate monthly accruals and capitalization of internal project work.
Developing the current IT reporting processes.
Being responsible for coordination of the internal and external IT invoicing.
Being responsible for Business Case preparations, reviews and reviews of IT project outcomes in accordance with the existing governance processes. This includes maintaining the Business Case template and educating colleagues in the use of the template.
Developing forecasting and reporting frameworks to predict future financial performance within IT.


Working in close collaboration with the Head of Group IT and other leaders within SSAB Group you will assess overall IT performance, identify business drivers and benchmark business processes against relevant KPIs. As the Senior IT Controller you have the opportunity to shape IT within one of the world’s leading steel manufacturers, working together with experienced coworkers in making the steel industry sustainable.

About you
Minimum 5-7 years of experience from Business Controlling. IT- or change management project knowledge is beneficial.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent.
Strong analytical mindset and good understanding of performance measurements.
SSAB is using SAP, MS Office, Aaro and MS Power BI, therefore it is a plus if you have experience in these systems.
You are a team player with networking skills and a driving force within your own area, able to identify and initiate projects and tasks to improve your area of responsibility.
Excellent communication skills when presenting complex analysis to SSAB Group IT stakeholders.
Fluent in English (and Swedish or Finnish), written and spoken.
