Senior Lab Engineer to Husqvarna Robotics

Senior Lab Engineer to Husqvarna Robotics

Arbetsbeskrivning

“Our job is to prevent what isn’t good enough - and to help find new, better ways forward”.
As a Lab Engineer here at Robotics at Husqvarna, you'll be up close and personal with every aspect of our robotic lawnmowers, getting a hands-on look at how they work and are built, testing, taking apart and putting together all the pieces that make them work.
About the role as Lab Engineer:
We’re in to the nitty-gritty when it comes to mechanics and electronics. We're on a mission to make sure our products not only function, but also; function safely. Therefore, we craft creative test methods and codes to make sure our results are consistent, no matter who's conducting the tests.
And, we actually solve problems through testing. After all, we want the mower to be self-propelled, so that it for example doesn't stop when it’s mowing in the garden and that we always get a good mowing result (with good quality). We also want the mower to be designed so that it can handle obstacles in the best possible way, that there is a good weight distribution and that the design of the plastic parts is correct, to have robustness. This is where our Lab Engineers comes in to the picture.
You make a lot of different testing, for example crash tests, to ensure that the bumper does not crack, vibration tests to ensure that the front axle itself has sufficient mechanical robustness, so that it will not break over time and much more.
In this role, you'll also have the chance to level up your leadership skills, by taking on more responsibilities.
In the future, you’ll have the opportunity to take a team lead role and planning and coordinating with other teams and departments.
So, get ready for a fun ride, as we test and find new ways – to make the ultimate robotic mowers! No boring black boxes here, we’re putting the pieces together for a first-hand look at the magic behind the mechanics. Buckle up and see the collaboration between software and hardware, in action! With all cool technique (such as revved up motors and sensors), we watch as the robotic mower comes to life.

The team and the department:
As part of a tight-knit team of 17, you'll work closely with the entire product - to bring quality experiences to our customers. With robotics in a state of exciting expansion, this is your chance to be a part of a world-class development organization - and make a real impact. You'll work closely with other departments at Robotics, constantly discovering new and smarter ways to ensure our products are top-notch.
Our teams tackle projects with a creative flair and a "let's do this" attitude. Every project is a new adventure, and for example, we bring in our designers to join us in the lab for brainstorming session. We dive into the results, ready to take on any challenges that comes our way. Because, after all, there's no better way to conquer obstacles than together.
About you:
We're looking for someone with a solid technical background and a natural curiosity about new technology. You have been working with testing quality, testing and verification for a long time and therefore, you have a good understanding in this field.
You may not have everything from plastic construction to electronics and mechatronics in your backpack, but you have at least touched one of these areas in some way in your career. If you also have an education as an engineer, that is a plus (but not a requirement).
If you're also happens to be the type who loves to tinker with exciting projects in your free time, such as crafting electric bikes, piloting radio-controlled drones, or even building your own hoverboards, then you may be just the kind of innovative person we’re looking for here.
But, what we really value is drive, curiosity, flexibility, and the ability to work well with a team - and the drive to test theories in real life. Fluency in Swedish and English is a must, as you'll be communicating with both internal (communicating results for example) and external customers.
