Arbetsbeskrivning
We are looking for a Senior lecturer, Associate professor, Professor or Full Professor with a drive and ability to develop the next generation of theories and methods in operations management in a cooperative and interdisciplinary academic environment.
Information about the Department and our research
The Department of Technology Management and Economics broadly researches the interaction between technology development, industrial systems, society, people and the environment. The Department is organized in six divisions for research and teaching. The Division of Supply and Operations Management includes three subjects: Operations Management, Industrial Marketing and Production Logistics.
We are looking to fill a position in Operations Management at the level of Senior lecturer, Associate professor (docent), Professor or Full Professor. Our Operations Management research encompasses work organisation, production management, manufacturing strategy, performance management, sustainable production and the impact of digitalization on operations. We are looking for someone who can be a part of and develop the division in these areas. The research at the division is typically inter-disciplinary with strong emphasis on both societal relevance and high visibility in leading academic journals. The Operations Management research at the division is linked to several of Chalmers' Areas of Advances and to the wider operations management research at the department (e.g. at the Divisions of Supply and Operations Management, Service Management and Logistics, Innovation and R&D Management).
Operations management is a broad and well established subject at the Department of Technology Management and Economics, both in research and teaching. This position is motivated by a need for research leadership and the call is made as Open rank to enable a broad search field. We are looking for a person who can take leading roles in undergraduate and graduate education, or will be able to take such responsibilities within a couple of years.
Major responsibilities
The position involves conducting empirical research of high international quality within the subject area of operations management. Further, it involves managing and teaching courses and supervising students at all levels. It requires participation in further development of research activities with the operations management staff and its networks within academy and industry, and applying for external funding.
Position summary

You should have a Ph.D. degree and research experience with primary focus in operations management. You must have a broad competence within the research area described above, together with a strong and distinct specialty. The division conducts education on both undergraduate and graduate level. For this reason, you must have substantial and well-documented pedagogical experience and we place equal importance on research and pedagogical merits. As such, we place a great deal of emphasis on your pedagogical portfolio. You should have completed (or be able to complete within two years of an appointment) courses on teaching and learning in higher education or other equivalent education (15 higher education credits). We are looking for someone with a good potential to lead and develop research and teaching, to supervise doctoral students, and to collaborate with external stakeholders.
Depending upon the academic level of the position, the following are required or meritorious qualifications for the position:
- Research leadership
- Experience of course development and management
- Shown ability to attract external funding
