Senior Lecturer in Avionics

Mälardalen University (MDH) announces a new position as a Senior Lecturer in Avionics specializing in hardware related issues (electronics, on-board systems for avionics applications). The School of Innovation, Design and Engineering (IDT) at MDH conducts research and teaching education with a focus on embedded systems. The school is strengthening its activities in the field of avionics with an emphasis on safety critical avionics systems. The distribution of teaching and research depends on the current funding situation and actual need, the initial relation will be 50/50 between teaching and research time.

The tasks of the position consist mainly of research, supervising PhD students, and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The appointment requires also to actively seek for funding, research grants, and to actively participate in strengthening the research and managing of projects in collaboration with industrial and academic partners.

The research should have a focus on developing methods and processes for safety critical avionics systems, and be in close cooperation with existing research in the research group of Robotics and Avionics. This position is targeted towards hardware related research and education, and should be seen as a good complement to already ongoing research at IDT, within the area of safety-critical, complex software systems. Research experience and participation in international research projects related to this area is considered as an additional qualification.
