At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, research and education are conducted in business administration, industrial engineering and management, resource recovery, building technology, and within the textile field: design, management and technology.
The Faculty has five departments: the Department of Business Administration and Textile Management, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology, the Department of Textile Technology, and the Department of Design. The Swedish School of Textiles, as well as the two centres, the Centre for Sustainable Society Development and the Swedish Institute for Innovative Retailing/The Retail Lab, are other important elements within the Faculty. At the Faculty, there are also two research schools, in Resource Recovery and Textile and Fashion.
Job description
The position includes teaching at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels within the educational programmes BSc in Chemical Engineering - Applied Biotechnology and Master’s Programme in Resource Recovery - Biotechnology and Bioeconomy, as well as supervision of degree projects and the development of courses and educational programmes. Within the framework of the position, there is also the opportunity to conduct your own research as well as to supervise doctoral students.
Qualifications
For the position of a Senior Lecturer, a doctoral degree with a biotechnology focus or equivalent is required, as well as documented pedagogical skills and experience of teaching and supervision within a college/university.
You as an applicant must have previous experience of working with research related to industrial applications, be able to communicate well in both written and spoken English, and have a basic knowledge of the Swedish language. We are looking for someone with good collaboration and initiative-taking qualities, an ability to work independently and in a structured way, as well as the ability to prioritise among work tasks.
Merits for position are as follows:
• experience of research collaboration between academia and industry
• good knowledge of microbiology and extensive experience in industrial biotechnology
• expertise in fibre chemistry with a focus on various pretreatment processes of lignocellulose, as well as in the pulp and paper industry, and bioenergy production
• previous experience of working specifically with the research and industrial applications of filamentous fungi
• experience of applying for external research funding
For a permanent position at the university, you must have completed a course of
pedagogical training relevant to university instruction university education equivalent to 10 weeks full-time studies or equivalent knowledge. This course can be completed during the first two years of employment.
