Job description
Do you want to contribute to the development of Blekinge Institute of Technology's growing research and educational environment in visual and interactive computer science with a focus on game technology? Then this role as Senior Lecturer in Computer Science with a specialisation in Game Technology is something for you!

Responsibilities
The position considers a permanent senior lecturer position in computer science with a specialisation in game technology with a focus on graphics programming for visual and interactive computing. Included in the employment will be to contribute to our growing research and education environment within visual and interactive computing at the main campus in Karlskrona at BTH, together with existing researchers and lecturers. A part of the work will also be to contribute to the developments of game technology educational programs at BTH. The development work should be carried out in collaboration with industry and civil society. In addition, supervision for degree projects at the undergraduate and advanced level, as well as doctoral students in the subject area will be included. The work will also consist of applying for external research funding at both national and international level. 

During the first four-year period, a research share of at least 50% of the employment is guaranteed. There are also resources to fund a doctoral student. The employment is part of the strategic recruitments within the gaming area at BTH, which is partly financed by the Knowledge Foundation. 

We are a committed group of 12 people in this area and all together the department consists of 70 associates.We are also currently reviewing the entire education programs in the area of game technology. Qualifications
To fit into the role of senior lecturer, you have demonstrated pedagogical skills and completed a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence or any other professional skills that are important with regard to the employment's subject content and the tasks to be included in the employment. International applicants should initially be able to teach in English. We expect a non-Swedish-speaking employee to acquire sufficient Swedish skills within three years to be able to teach in Swedish and communicate with the university's units/ functions in Swedish.

Meriting competencies and experience:


In addition to the requirements described in the work description, eligibility requirements and assessment criteria for the position, the following degrees, competencies and experiences are considered a merit:

- Documented experience of theory, method development, and research in game development and interactive systems


Documented skills and ability of game engines, 3D programming, XR (AR, VR, MR), and human-computer interaction
Ability to perform independent research of a high international quality in visual and interactive computing (game technology)
Documented experience of seeking and being granted external funding
Good communication and collaboration skills with students and colleagues
Good language skills in English
