At the Faculty of Librarianship, Information, Education and IT, education and research is conducted in Library and Information Science, Educational Work as well as Business and IT. The Faculty offers doctoral education in the field of Library and Information Science, and is working to establish doctoral education programmes in in Educational Work and Business and IT. The Faculty offers educational programmes at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, including programmes for those seeking to become IT specialists, systems architects, web content managers and designers, librarians, pre-school teachers, primary school teachers, and subject teachers.
Job description
Your main tasks will consist of teaching and research. The teaching is carried out together with colleagues within the department's educational programmes in Informatics and includes courses at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. Teaching at Bachelor’s level is mainly carried out in the Bachelor’s programme Computer and Systems Science, while teaching and course development at the Master's level will primarily be carried out in Informatics with a focus on data-driven IT management. Examples of current content in courses are object-oriented programming in C#, data visualisation, intelligent agents, software development projects, and web/mobile development.
The department's policy is that employees should, if possible, also participate in research projects in relation to the department's research groups. At the department, there are two research groups, InnovationLab, with a focus on studying and developing digital innovations, and ComputerScienceLab, where the research is focused on intelligent data analysis of large amounts of data. A large part of the research conducted focuses on data-driven innovation, which includes both digital artefacts and organisational aspects. The research is often externally funded and is carried out in project form with several employees in collaboration with business and industry. An important part of the position is to further develop the research environment, primarily through one’s own research, but also through the supervision of doctoral students and the development of applications for external research funding. Developing collaborations with national and international networks is a natural part of the work.
During the first two years, the position includes 40% research and competence development time, which, after two years, is changed in its in scope according to the relevant working time agreement. Teaching at the Bachelor’s is mainly in Swedish, while teaching at the Master’s level is mainly in English.
Qualifications
The position requires demonstrated pedagogical skills and a doctoral degree in Informatics or other relevant subject for the focus of the position (e.g. computer science). In addition, documented experience of relevant teaching in software development and experience of course responsibility and development of course materials is required. You have scientific expertise in the subject area demonstrated through scientific publications, conference participation, and participation in research collaborations and other commitments in the scientific community such as review or expert assignments. Furthermore, you have the ability to contribute to the development of the department's research in Informatics as well as good and documented knowledge of English, both in speech and writing.
Merits for employment are;

• Experience of applying for and obtaining external research funding.
• Leadership of research in Informatics.

Significant emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate within a teaching team.
For a permanent position at the university, you must have completed a course of pedagogical training relevant to university instruction university education equivalent to 10 weeks full-time studies or equivalent knowledge.
