Senior lecturer in information architecture

A senior lecturer in Library and Information Science specializing in knowledge organization/information architecture.

This is a full-time academic position. The date for commencement will be agreed upon and a trial period can be applicable.

The Swedish School of Library and Information Science is a dynamic workplace for research and education. Over thirty researchers (of which 7 are professors) work at the school, and at present we have 15-20 doctoral candidates and about 15 lecturers. Research is organized in four major areas: information practices, digital resources and services in the culture and information sector, libraries, culture and society, and social media studies. Our research education is the largest in Sweden in the discipline. We offer programmes and courses at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels for professions such as librarians, information specialists and web editors. The Swedish School of Library and Information Science was the first Swedish member of the international organisation iSchools. At present we are in the process of establishing a long-term collaboration with the Institutions for Informatics and Educational Sciences and are therefore seeking to employ a senior lecturer in Library and Information Science specializing in knowledge organization/information architecture.

Your work assignments will include active participation in the institution?s research environment and research education, participation in research projects as well as in your own field of expertise, knowledge organization/information architecture. The position also entails teaching in the form of lectures, supervision, and examinations within the stipulated area. You will even participate in the development of programmes, the designing and planning of courses as well as their administration. You will be teaching both at graduate and undergraduate levels in programmes such as Digital Libraries and Digital Services, The Master's Programme in Library and Information Science, the Web Editor's programme and the Librarian's programme. Subjects may include content management, information architecture, the semantic web, data mining, information retrieval, classification, indexing and metadata etc. The teaching of relevant scientific theory and methods are included together with the supervision of project work and theses and the examination of theses at Bachelor, Magister and Master levels.
