Senior Lecturer in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Capital Management
Location: Department of Economy and Society, Gothenburg
First day of employment: 2017-04-03 or upon agreement
Department of Economy and Society teach and research within three different subjects; Economic History, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Human Geography. The different subjects create the possibility to carry out interdisciplinary education and research.
The position is a temporary position located at the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Department of Economy and Society at the School och Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg.
The Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is dedicated to the research, education, and societal interactions in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. The Institute engages different actors involved in the generation, diffusion and exploitation of ideas into business and societal innovations including change of both existing firms as well as renewal of society through new firms and industries. The institute combines PhD education, two M.Sc. programs, education at basic level, research, and has an active dialog with companies on these issues. Specific subject description
Innovation and Entrepreneurship based on evolutionary and Schumpeterian approaches especially entrepreneurship dependent upon advanced knowledge and networks.
Job assignments
The position entails all aspects of teaching primarily, but not exclusively, at the Master level in the Master programs ?Knowledge Based Entrepreneurship?. Courses include topics like entrepreneurship and new business development, emergence of new organizations such as academic spin-offs and corporate ventures, knowledge intensive entrepreneurship, innovation management and research methods. The position further entails participation in all aspects of conducting research in, and attracting funding for research in the subject area. The holder of the position must also expect to participate in the Institute's advisory work with public sector and business clients.
Eligibility
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) are essential, due to international research collaboration. We are particularly interested in candidates with proven experience in areas related to our on-going projects.
Assessment
Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Candidates will be assessed on their demonstrated skills in conducting research, managing projects and teaching. Candidates should be currently active in research related to entrepreneurship in Schumpeterian and evolutionary approaches. Areas of particular interest include: knowledge based entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and open innovation in small and medium enterprises. Candidates' experience of qualitative research methods, used in relation to the topics specified above are also an assessment ground, as well as the ability to teach with a high level of proficiency in English and Swedish.
The assessment will also include the candidate's ability to contribute both scientifically and educationally to the institute and to have the personal qualities required to be able to cooperate internally and externally. During the selection process there will be interviews and reference checks.
