The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management
The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management is part of the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Plant Production Science. The department is also part of SLU's landscape, a cross-institutional platform for collaboration and joint profiling of the landscape topic within SLU.

Subject area
We are looking for you who find it inspiring to work in a dialogue between society, industry/the green sector and university, and have a wide competence in
the outdoor environment of sustainable cities and communities, especially in relation to one or more of the subject areas Landscape planning; Landscape governance and Management; Design of urban landscape or Urban Vegetation.

Duties
The purpose of the recruitment is to develop the department's collaboration with external stakeholder. The holder will also conduct research in one or more of the topics above with a focus on the outdoor environment in sustainable cities and communities.

The duties include to:


• together with the department's teachers and research groups, and with non-academic stakeholders, develop research topics and integrate external perspectives in the department's educational programs 
• contribute to cooperation in SLU Landscape
• build networks with industry, authorities, the scientific community and other stakeholders in Sweden and internationally
• apply for external research funding
• communicate research results from the subject area
• conduct teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate level

Qualifications
The applicant shall:


• have completed a PhD degree
• be scientifically skilled in the field of employment
• have demonstrated proficiency in collaboration
• be pedagogically skilled and have undergone training in teaching and learning in higher education, covering around 10 weeks of full-time studies (or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge)
• demonstrate good ability to communicate in writing and orally in Swedish and English

Assessment criteria
As a basis for assessment when appointing a university lecturer, the degree of competence that is a requirement for eligibility for employment must first apply.

The assessment of scientific skills will consider:


• previous research efforts and ongoing research
• ability to independently initiate and conduct innovative research
• experience of applying for and obtaining external research funding

The assessment of collaborative skills will consider:


• documented proficiency in initiating and leading research projects in collaboration with actors from industry and/or the public sector

The assessment of pedagogical competence will consider:


• experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching
• experience of supervision and examination at doctoral level
• ability to integrate research and a scientific approach in the pedagogic work

The testing of collaboration skills is as much considered as the scientific and pedagogical skills. When selecting among qualified applicants, great importance will be attached to collaboration skills and scientific skills. Emphasis will also be placed on pedagogical skills and good ability to communicate in writing and orally in Swedish and English.

Administrative skills of importance to the subject content and duties are qualifying, as well as the ability to develop and manage activities at the university.
