The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well as individual academic courses within the first and second cycle of higher education. Basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead both to a professional degree and a bachelor's degree. Training of midwives and specialist nursing with different orientations are professional registration in combination with master's degree. All professional programs lead to professional registration. Moreover, courses are offered at the advanced level, which give opportunity for continued studies to a master's degree in one of the institute's main topics; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and health care pedagogics. The institute offers a postgraduate program leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.

Senior Lecturer in Medical science with specialization in implementation of person-centered care
SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Center for Person-centered Care (GPCC) at the University of Gothenburg is a national interdisciplinary research center. There are currently about 100 national and international researchers from various disciplines associated with the GPCC. Research in nursing and medicine are the main focus, even if there are representatives from almost every faculty and subject at the University of Gothenburg. About forty research projects are currently underway on person-centered care for various long-term diseases and health and medical care organizations. Person-centered care means that care and treatment are grounded in the assumption that the patient is an individual with different potential, abilities, and resources, but also with varying limitations and needs. Implementation of person-centered care is one of the GPCCs missions and a demand for it is coming from the health and medical system. Implementing and conducting research in the field requires knowledge and support within the subject of nursing.
JOB ASSIGNMENTS:
Responsibilities include primarily working with implementation programs for results from research on person-centered care within health and medical care. Responsibilities also include teaching, assignment as course coordinator, supervision and examination, at undergraduate, advanced level and postgraduate level in courses at the institution and in courses at the Sahlgrenska academy. Assignment as course coordinator comprises to development and coordination of learning objectives, learning activities, assessment and assessment criteria in relation to the content, purpose and current pedagogical research, and quality assurance motivated operational plans in the Institute. The assignment includes efforts to achieve participation in planned joint meetings and activities. The holder is expected to initiate and apply for external funding. The position involves travel.
ELIGIBILITY:
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. PhD degree in medicin and demonstrated pedagogical skills. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The first assessment criterion is pedagogical skills and scientific skills. Great importance will be attached to clinical experience and current research in the area. In addition experience of teaching, including supervision and examination of thesis at undergraduate and advanced levels, experience of leading or working with implementation and applying for external funding is meritorious. Furthermore, international research and/or training experience, is considered as an advantage. Administrative skills and ability to cooperate will also be considered. International research and educational experiences are preferred. Significant weight is also given to broad experience of the Swedish health and medical care system and good communication skills. The candidate's administrative abilities and ability to work with others will also be considered. The successful applicant may also be asked to complete an educational training program within the first year of employment.
